My role as a Bloomberg Customer Support (BCS) Representative consists in receiving calls from clients that are having issues with their Terminal (Bloomberg's Software) as well as calling out for users to assist them with any difficulties. We have a 'queue' which we have to care of as they are all the cases of clients that we have to assist throughout the day. We also have meetings and training which help us to improve our performance and the quality of our calls with the clients.
I have learnt a lot of IT skills as we are always using our computers in order to assist clients. Also, I feel more confident speaking with external stakeholders through the phone which was one of my personal obstacles. Lastly, I have improved my public speaking skills as I have to present teach and present when I come up with an idea or a project.
My programme allowed me to learn from a different point of view on how a financial related company operates, as well as learning a business administrator basics which will help me improve my day to day job. Every part of this apprenticeship has been great and I would recommend it to anyone that is always excited to learn new things.
My programme's structure is great because since the start I already knew when the sessions were going to take place and where. Also, it is very flexible, if for some reason you are not able to attend there is always an alternative that allows you to attend in another time.
My employer has been amazing, not just her but everyone that is involved in the apprenticeship has been really helpful because they always take the time in order to help you with any difficulties inside and outside of work which motivates you to do even better. In terms of inside of work, my manager is always offering herself to help me with any issues I have which makes it very comforting.
The amount of help that I have received is huge. The training has been really good and always providing the most accurate information and always offering themselves all the time to help us get the best grade. Also, we have meeting very often which helps us on our journey and encourages us to do our best.
The qualification might not help with everything that involves my day to day basis, however, this does not mean it is not helpful as the training is from the business administration side and looks at the company as a whole. Therefore, I believe it provides a solid understanding as a whole which can help on my role.
Yes, we have a lot of events that take place during the year. These events are accessible to most employees and you can request it any time. Moreover, there are also team and departments night outs which helps us meeting our colleagues outside of work which can result in good relationships for the future.

Bloomberg is an amazing company that allows their employees to progress and grow in a professional level very quick. There are a lot of training sessions which can help you to improve skills that can help your day to day work and training that might help you in the future for example public speaking. Lastly, Bloomberg allows you to move to other departments within the company as long as you can show that you are capable of keeping up and you are always pushing yourself to learn more.
If you apply to Bloomberg you need to be motivated, you need to look forward to push yourself to learn skills that you have never thought of. Also, you need to be open to new stuff for example speaking to people around the building or taking projects that you might not know nothing about and try to find the solution for it. Bloomberg is always there to help, however, you need to show that you are interested, passionate and enthusiastic about it, because as long as you show these, Bloomberg will be there to help.
