On a day to day basis my role includes various different activities. I am involved in fully populating a tool that is integral to all of our work so we can pull reports for a variety of analysis to take place. Also, I am involved in tracking actuals processed into the company aswell as sending reports to senior management.
I have learnt a number of new skills since starting my apprenticeship in August. For starters I have learnt how to manage my time much more effectively. Also, I have improved my people skills when it comes to interacting with a variety of people within the company. I have improved my email writing skills.
I really enjoy the programme I am as I believe it is really suited to what I enjoy and am good at. I also enjoy it because there is a wide variety in work that I do so each day is different and I am continuously learning new things and meeting new people.
I believe that my programme is very organised. It is well structured as there is constantly update tests and learning material to the industry and ways things can go wrong. For example, I have recently completed bribery exams and ways to avoid that in the industry. I think this makes the programme very organised as it allows us to keep on learning.
I was the first person on my type of programme where I am doing my accounting qualification. I could have received more help from my employer where we are all venturing into something new. However over recent weeks this has improved a fair amount and I am happy from the support I receive.
Very similar to the last question. Recently I have had much more support from the provider of my qualifications where I have a one to one session with my tutor to help my pass my next exam. However, before that there was limited help from them leaving me to my own devices.
At the moment I am only on the first section of my qualification which hasn't really helped with any of my day to day work. However, I am very hopeful that in future exams and sections of the programme it will help with my day to day work and increase my knowledge.
Yes, there is many types of extra curricular activites to get involved in at work. For instance, there is a 6 a side football team running at the minute aswell as various charity events to get involved in. Also, the industry has a very social side and has many professional networking events.
Yes
I have very much enjoyed my first 9 months here at Willis Towers Watson and think that it is a great company always trying to challenge and enhance its employees. Also, the people are great and everyone is easy to get on with so its an opportunity that everyone so have.
When joining Willis Towers Watson I was always told there is no such thing as a stupid question but it is true. So my advice would be to ask as many questions as possible because it will only help you in the long run. Also, I would say taking notes is very key as they will be there to refer to at any time you need.
