My role involves working with all employees within the business. Arranging training as well as looking at how to advance employees training, in terms of enjoyment as well as quality. The customer experience is what drives employees here at Sage, and through having this training available whenever needed ensures that this remains high.
I have developed my people skills in terms of communication as well as my confidence when speaking to new people across the business. My excel skills have been improved massively through advice and guidance from my team. I have learned how to create invoices for training suppliers. I have developed my confidence when putting forward ideas that I may have. I have learned about the culture for the business in a way that I feel I may not have had exposure to in a different organisation.
I think the apprenticeship programme is an amazing experience. At Sage, no idea is a bad idea and no question is a stupid question. We are treated as equals within the organisation and all ideas presented are valued and appreciated I love the course structure I love being able to earn while i learn.
At the beginning of my apprenticeship course, we had a few issues with finding a training provider. However, now that I have started and am fully immersed in my role, I love it! I feel as though I yet have time to thrive and am given the guidance and support to do so. I would not want to have this experience at another organisation.
I receive endless amounts of support. Any spare time is granted to spend working on assignments from my college course. This really makes me feel comfortable in my role and as an apprentice within the business. I am expected to complete work given to me, however am not given too much of a workload that I cannot handle.
Again, I have received endless amounts of support. As Above. I am given realistic time frames in order to complete my coursework/ assignments. I am supported with any queries I may have with relating college work to work at Sage. I feel comfortable enough to contribute ideas in classroom sessions, and can gain knowledge and understanding in this way.
I feel, all of the topics relate to my role in some way. I don't feel pressured to know everything as everyone is aware that I am learning while i work and may therefore not have the answers they need first time. I understand my role through the topics/sessions delivered in college.
There are a lot of extra-curricular activities available at work. In terms of both internal and external training sessions. We are given an online training platform, through which skills such as piano playing etc. can be learned. Giving employees a change from their normal training sessions, ensures that they remain engaged within their role and are motivated to come into work and learn something new everyday.
Yes
It is a great place to work. the culture is ever changing to ensure that customers and employees are at the heart of everything we do, in line with our values. The people working at Sage provide endless amounts of support and advice, and love to answer questions. Everyone wants to help.
Be yourself. Don't be afraid to speak up and to ask 'why?'. Look for opportunities and take them. Love your job and you will flourish. Don't be scared to ask for help, believe me this is a positive thing. If you don't know something don't be scared to say so. Look for solutions. Even though situations may be though and you want to give up, if you aren't positive about it, you will be stuck complaining.
