As an account manager i work within business to business sales looking after my 'accounts', selling more into existing customers and finding new business also. Cold calling, target emails, meetings and marketing are all things i do day to day to find new business. Targets are always going up so we constantly need to find new business,
People skills is a huge one in the role of sales, learning to converge and diverge my speech to different people in order to gain trust and build relationships in the industry. Also i have learned to be more resilient before i ak for help from my peers which is a huge part of the job with all the complicated procedures and systems.
I do enjoy the programme, unfortunately i have to travel to manchester via train for all the trainings which usually occur once every two weeks. Everyone in my team at work are so friendly so it makes me love my job. Regarding the programme; the events, day trips and outward bound course and memories i wont forget.
I feel the structure of the programme is quite rigid with strict tasks to complete in each training sessions and targets to meet at the end of each of these. That said, it is very well organised and structured in a way that makes it easy to understand and know what we have to achieve.
Alot! But not too much. When ever i need help there is someone within my team or the office who is keen to help me out as we all kind of look out for each other. But i am still given total freedom and responsibility to make my own choices. This allows me to learn from my mistakes and progress much quicker .
Being the only apprentice in the Leeds office, no one else is doing coursework or anything like that and it feels like alot of pressure to do my everyday job + all the course work on top. But my training provider is always on hand and there when ever i may need them.
To be perfectly honest, I would rather not do the qualification as this job is learning on the job. I don't feel like it helps at all rather it actually holds myself back from working as much or as hard as i always have the coursework and qualification in the back of my mind.
We have team nights out where each team is assigned a budget each quarter to spend on a team day whether is be go ape, paint-balling or the horse races. We also have a 5 aside football team where we play every week at the local 5 a side pitches
Yes
Because it is such a good place to work and the people are amazing! We have so much fun along side working which really makes working at Softcat so desirable job. The earning potential is through the roof and the skills you will learn will stick with you throughout life
Just be yourself! I see so many people coming in pretending to be someone they are not and it is spotted straight away. Be prepared for the interview, research who Softcat are, how we started and what we are all about. These questions will be asked in either the phone of face to face interview.
