I get picked up on a morning from my house then we travel to site. when we get to site we have a morning briefing on what the job consists of that day then we go out on site and get to work. Activities vary on site from working with concrete to setting up sites.
I have learnt how to work well within a team. I have also been on several training courses such as learning how to ride a roller, how to work in a confined space, manual handling, how to work with abrasive wheels and working from heights. These are all new skills I have learned.
I really do enjoy it most days because I have a good team that I work with and we work well together. Some days we are more busy than other days and it can drag but overall I enjoy it and can see a good future and successful career here at JN Bentleys.
It can be well organised sometimes when it comes to the training courses but other times when it comes to the theory side of it, it can be very unorganised. We have had three different tutors and all have a different way of teaching which can be confusing to us.
I think the support we receive is very good. anytime I have ever asked for any help or support I have always received it. my mentor is always happy to help me and never makes it awkward for me to ask him and the same goes for anyone else I have asked.
I think the support we receive from our training provider has been very good so far, our tutor is very helpful and knowledgeable. he is always happy to help and guide us through our course and makes sure we are never stuck not wanting to ask for help.
we learn skills through our training provider that our relevant to the work we do out on site. I have learnt about concrete that I have been able to put into practise at work which has helped out the team. also I have learnt about drainage that I have seen on site.
I think there is a football tournament you can get involved in but I haven't heard much about it. if I hear of anything like this I would definitely get involved because I think its a good way to get to know more people and that only helps out.
Yes
yes I would because I think its a good company and I have only heard good things about the company from anyone who I have spoken to. I want to have a long and successful career here so I would recommended it to anyone who I speak to about it
I would tell anyone to just be themselves at the assessment day and to just get involved and try and get to know as many people as you can because this will help you throughout the day as you work in teams on different activities through the day. its a relaxed environment.
