analysing data and communicating to several business units the outcome. Stakeholder management. Ensuring customers are considered in decisions and the fairest outcome for them is met. Working with data on spread sheet form and trying to understand and change it to change presentation type, to powerpoint etc for presenting to senior managers.
Communication skills have been improved. Written skills have dramatically improved. I have actually managed to secure a promotion which demonstrates my improved written skills by completing an application as well as verbal by successfully completing the face to face interview. I also have learned a lot more about my organisation and the policies supporting actions.
I really enjoy my programme. My Coach, from People Plus (previously Learn Direct) has been very supportive and I think mostly why I have enjoyed my programme so much. He was always encouraging me to push and develop myself and is there whenever I need help with completing units. I have enjoyed learning new skills and seeing myself improve.
Very well, he always planned in advance and I knew exactly what was expected of me, what actions I had to complete, even adding things like attachments to allow me to quickly refer instead of having to search through drives. I wouldn't be able to have planned it any better myself.
All the support I needed, I always was allowed time to complete actions and given time away from my day job to attend calls or to meet with my coach on a regular basis. I got regular check ins with my manager to ask how I was progressing through the journey.
I receive a sufficient amount of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. My coach was supportive of all actions required of me to complete, talking through what was expected of me and how to complete the actions in order to achieve completion (not what to specifically right, just how to complete the tasks)
I think the qualification allowed me to grow and showcase my skills. It has gave me a good opportunity to network within my business as an ambassador for apprenticeships, which allows me to grow and develop my career within the company. As evidenced with my recent successful promotion into a new stretching role.
Yes, as mentioned, I am now involved with the apprenticeship ambassadors. There are running clubs and social outings which I can attend. There is an internal networking site which allows people who are across different divisions to speak to each other and share experiences. You can even post questions if you need help with anything.
Yes
There are a lot of benefits to working with the group. There are options such as staff mortgages, colleague car schemes, flex which allows you to use four precent of your wage tax free for different things like holiday trading or medical benefits. You also get an excellent pension package. Not only these benefits, but its a good company to develop in. There are so many varied business units and roles there is something for all personalities.
Have a look into what kind of jobs you could get, and make a plan as to what you would aspire to, I don't think there is a point of getting a job and just work without passion for the company. Have a look into their values and ensure you believe them and their behaviours, I don't think there is a point with working for a company which you don't agree with what they stand for.
