I work in commercial finance as a part of the invoicing team. We produce a monthly invoice sent to the client to bill them for work that we have completed for them. I receive information from the project accountants, which I then process into invoice format and verify before being sent out to the client.
I have learnt many new skills. I have developed my accounting knowledge and skills, both in work and through my learning on the job. I have also developed my communication skills, as I communicate with many different people, both internal and external, so it is important to be able to communicate effectively with them.
I enjoy my programme as I find myself learning things that I can directly apply into my work. I also enjoy the flexibility of my programme, and how I can study using different methods which fit around my requirements e.g. live online lectures, going into college. I also think that the materials provided by the provider are extensive, and I always feel ready for the exams.
I think that the course is structured very well, I am always provided with sufficient materials for the course and the course timetables are easily accessible. I find it very easy to book onto courses and to book my exams, and I feel that I always know where to access materials/help if required.
I receive support from my employer in terms of flexibility. They allow me to be flexible in my working hours to suit my studying e.g. leaving early to make a 6pm session. They also allow me a set number of study days, which means that I can focus solely on my studying in the days leading up to my exam. I also get support from my team, and if I have any specific questions they are always happy to help me.
There is a lot of online support and materials available for the qualification. Their Kaplan portal is very useful, storing the recorded lectures and additional tutorials incase of any confusion. I do not feel as though I receive any personal support from a tutor etc, and I don't think that my progress is monitored, but I would know who to email if i required assistance.
I feel that I do perform better as I am gaining an understanding into the underlying knowledge required to be able to grasp some concepts. I also feel as though it is easier for me to understand things if I have the background knowledge. E.g. accruals and prepayments were taught in my last exam, and I have recently been taken through how we address them in our work. The learning from thr exam helped me to understand the background of them and what they are.
There are many extra activities to get involved in, specifically for graduates and apprentices. There is a graduate and apprentice community that regularly organise things to be involved in, e.g meals and outings. We also receive regular newsletters from the programme to tell us what is on to get involved with which means we are always aware of activities.

I think Capgemini is a great company to work for. I think the culture of the company is good, and they specifically have a focus on pushing young talent and helping them to progress. I also feel that there is so much to do in the company, both job role related and not, and I think there is a specifically nice graduate and apprentice community to be involved in.
To believe in yourself and be yourself. When i was applying, I had no related qualifications and I was against people who were a lot more qualified and experienced than me. Often, they just look for people who seem like they want to work and learn, as opposed to the experience. I think it is important to not feel disheartened if somebody has more qualifications than you, as Capgemini care more about you as a person and your personality.
