o Carrying out work on behalf of UU on waste water o Supervision of others both long and short term o Independent time management a key part of the role o Experience in preparing RA/MS and ensuring works are carried out safely and correctly o Required to manage people of different ages, experiences and backgrounds o Sub agent role
Through this apprenticeship with JN Bentley, I have learned how to manage my time effectively and plan my work, in addition to this I have developed my own ability to make executive decisions and lead people of all ages and backgrounds. Aswell as this I have improved my communicational skills.
I enjoy my program very much so as it allows me to progress myself as a person socially and in terms of building a career for myself in the industry I want to pursue. The people I work with also make it a job I look forward to coming to every morning
The program is structured in such a way that it encases a large amount of on the job training , which normally is backed up by the college lessons eventually, when on site things are usually explained but sometimes there are certain situations where teach myself how to do something for the job.
Currently I don't think I receive much support from employer as I have been here for 8 months and had no reviews or talks about my progress or how they think I am doing, financially I am also struggling a lot as the car allowance doesn't cover how much my car costs me.
The training provider is very good and I receive how much I would have expected in terms of support towards my qualification(s), this is by sending homework to complete for next lesson, and site visits to access how I put what I've learned in the class room into practise whilst on the job.
The qualification is so far a very broad spectrum of how the entire process of the construction industry works, however goes into detail about specific things I find m,yse3lf doing whilst on site, but the more general knowledge is still very useful to have3 in order to understand the entire process
There are lots of extra curriculum activities to do at work, including 5 a side football, organised hiking, and other non sport related activities such as curry night and in addition to this there is also a gym in the office that includes table tennis to partake in on breaks and lunch
Yes
I would recommend JN Bentley to a friend because it is a good company to work for and to learn with as they are on the ball in terms of doing everything safely and the right way. I also enjoy my work and get a sense of fulfilment at the end of each day.
If somebody was to ask me for some tips or advice when applying to this company I would probably tell them that in order to stand out from the crowd in terms of other people applying then you should be thorough and a competent person and show a real motivation and fondness of the job.
