I assist the kitchen manager with the daily running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and cook food orders. I have been doing a few food orders and taking in deliveries. I comply with company standards with the cleaning. I have been training the new chef and explaing how we work in the kitchen.
I have learnt more about health and safety. I now have the knowledge to train new starters and know how to communicate better with the rest of the team. I know feel more confident in leading a team and will continue to develop my skills in all aspects of my job.
I really enjoyed doing my program, my trainer was lovely and very knowledgeable. I didnt realise how much depth the programme was going to cover but i really enjoyed. It was difficult at times but my trainer was there to helpand support me with the parts i really struggled with.
I knew what work i needed to do and could also see what my future work entailed. I had a week by week programme developed to fit around my busy schedule so i knew what i had to do for my next session with my trainer. I knew the end target and managed to reach target before.
My employer was and still is on hand to answer any questions I have. My employer helped and supported me through out my programme. My employer is very supportive and is always pushing my further to progress my career within the company. My employer also supports me with achieving my goals.
My training provider was very supportive. My trainer was really nice and very knowledgeable in the trade. My trainer helped me through the programme and was always very keen to push me to achieve my qualification. She was always very quick to reply to any questions i had when i was doing my independent learning.
My qualification has helped me massively. I now have a lot more understanding about leading a team and the different laws and acts that are associated with the catering industry. I now have more confidence in leading the kitchen team and will continue to build that new found confidence at work.
There are no extra curriculum activities at the moment that i am aware of. But i think it would be a very good idea if my place of work did have some extra curricular activities for the team as it would help the team to bond more and it would increase the teams mood.
