  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Its 50/50 really I enjoy my job as I am interested in the works and enjoy what I do. Also wanting to continue my career in this industry and having a long career at JNB. On the other hand support for apprentices can be poor at time with what we are learning and the end goals from the apprentice isn't very clear.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the structure is poorly organised with lack of communication from higher up and lack of understanding of what we need to learn. College is poorly organised with not enough time to do college work throughout the week causing stressful nights and weekends. Apart from that we learn a lot in the time we are given and help with are career.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel more support is needed with the career development and long term career path isn't clear. Lack of guidance within the job and help with work. Often left to try figure things out for myself and not getting much help. Pressure for things to be done can be too much sometimes but I also like some responsibility

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support is given from the provider well. Marking work and giving as much help as possible. Hardest thing is having time to do work with only having nights and weekend its hard to complete lots of course work within the deadlines. Think this is the lack of communication between learning provider and workplace.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I am Quantity surveyor and I am learning civil engineering this doesn't really help even though more understanding of building, techniques and equipment is good this doesn't help a lot in the work I do day to day but it does help a little but curtail to my role.
