I have to contact corporate clients to organise training for their banking system. Additional to this in the morning i background check companies and allocate these companies out to an implementation manager to onboard them on to that banking platform. I manage 8 different trainers diaries with bookings and assist with anything else they require ie, travel bookings/ hotels/ etc.
i developed on my communication skills as i have now dealt with a diverse range of clients, i deal with high corporate clients from big companies like Greggs or NFL. Then i handle international clients that have a language barrier or needs extra requirements ie translator. I have developed a lot on organisation and management too by handling a large workload.
I do enjoy my programme as i have learned a lot of information that i can carry with me on any future roles. a lot about finance and business that i want to pursue in my later life. However there are a few negatives as i feel the talent coach is very unorganised and i find it very prolonged.
Not massively, it was great towards the beginning as we had a lot of monthly meetings and we all discussed the book and shared our ideas etc. After the first few months it went downhill and it was very iscolating as you didn't have the consistancy of the support
With regards to Barclays itsself they are fantastic at supporting you, they give you the designated time you need and the resources to help learn. They are very flexable with our apprenticeship and they always make sure that it comes above anything and is the most important thing for us to do.
With regards to the talent coach we get support to an extent as i understand she has a lot of people she handles but it does take a while for her to get back to us. You feel that you aren't progressing the way you want to because we have been promised so much at the end of the apprenticeship and been told to wait 6 months before applying for another role, but its waiting to finish it and then an additional 6 months..
I feel that it hasn't helped me massively in the role i'm doing as you learn in depth from the book but you dont neccesarily use it all the time. However as an individual this will help me massively with my future plans to set up my own businesses as this teaches you finance and business as one
I have started to invovle myself on more citizenship activities, for example i have taken on a Life skills leader role; this entails me educating children ages from 7-11 on digital skills and money skills. I have also taken on talks about the apprenticeship to high schools giving them another option on what to do after school.
Yes
I think its not Barclays fault that people are fininding the apprenticeship difficult, Barclays itsself is one of the most supportive and generous companies that i have worked for. They do truly care about their employees and they do the best of their ability to make the apprenticeship work on their side.
I would say to be yourself, don't try and be someone else as you learn and you grow better by being you. You take on the information and you embrace it a lot more than you would if your mind was elsewhere. I would say defintely do not leave your exam last minute!!!!!!
