i was able to work with a team to produce a presentation for a well thought out unique business plan that included feasible financial plans. it was a project to produce a new piece of technology to create a futuristic mobile phone. this was a practise dragons den pitch. i also had the opportunity to do admin work for the organisation.
it was a great experience for the professional world. it trained me to accentuate my leadership skills and allowed me to network with employees of EY. i also had the amazing opportunity to present a well thought out business plan to the partner of the multinational company, EY. this helped me gain confidence and ability to communicate better.
i enjoyed it very much as i had the amazing opportunity to meet new people my age that are as ambitious as myself. i also had the chance to create networks and contacts with higher profiled employees from the organisation. i loved the admin work as it helped me realise what i want to do in the future.
it was very well organised and extremely thought out by the team members. the way the experience was helped me prepare myself. it started off with easier work such as admin work which extended to a presentations that was arranged so we had enough time to prepare the presentation and were able to come up with a plan
i learnt how to communicate professionally in the environment by being able to converse with employees and partners of the multinational company. i also learnt how to approach people in the company and be professional. i was able to experience working in the large company with formal attire and my own laptop and paperwork
it helped me choose what i would like to do in the future as i was able to experience the professional world. i was very excited and impressed by the world of business. this opportunity helped me decide that i want to be a worker in the financial sector or something in the business industry.
i was paid £450 for the month of work experience altogether. this included the expenses for travelling and food for lunch. it was also a reward for working for the company and the effort put into the experience. this was paid by the end of the work experience through a check.
there were many opportunities to network and meet other employees such as during our presentation we were able to communicate with the three judges and they asked us questions about our product. we were also put into other work experiences where we met employees of a different sector within the company, EY.
Yes
the money was good and the opportunity to meet employees helped me choose the career path i want to go down. the benefits of having a job in this large company is the feeling of accomplishment therefore i feel that this work experience would help others as it helped me a large amount.
make sure to be professional and remember that the employees are there to meet you so do not be shy and make sure to ask questions to get the best of the opportunity. try and stand out to the workers in order for them to remember you so you can apply for the apprenticeship with a higher chance of getting in later on.
