My role is to work in the various departments of the paintshop at Rolls-Royce and gain an understanding of the different working environments that they consist of. At the moment I am working in Final repair meaning that any damage that is found on the line is corrected and polished to ensure that the high standard is maintained.
Whilst working with Rolls-Royce I have learnt many new skills including spraying and repair, Prior to this apprenticeship I had no experience working with repair so these skills are greatly valaued. I have expanded my social skills whilst working with many new and different people, this will help me both in the future and in my current role.
I thoroughly enjoy this programme as I am able to work with one of the worlds most prestigeous brands, and perform tasks that I and are challenging, ensuring that every day I face a new obstacle. The programme has been structured well and from the start makes all apprentices feel welcome.
The programme has been structured very well both for support and direction, the apprentice managers are easily approchable and are there to answer or sort any queries that you may face. My apprenticeship has been structured in a way that I can see all areas of the paintshop making for a desireable experience.
My employer provides a lot of support and are able to help me with any problems that I may encounter.
