As part of the Information Systems Admin Team I work closely with the IS Director and Senior Management actioning any queries they might have. My daily tasks involve managing Holiday/Timesheets/Invoices, compiling and formatting Management Reports and creating accounts for new starters within IS. I have also been running my own project to improve the way the team manages holiday which has involved researching into different products, working with vendors and presenting to Senior Management.
I have improved my skills using all Microsoft packages, I am continously learning and improving my presentation skills and getting more comfortable talking in front of large groups of people. I am also gaining a greater understanding of the corperate way of doing things
I genuinely enjoy coming into work everyday, its challenging and i am provided with numerous learning opportunities. Everyone is really friendly which made settling in easy.
I feel trusted by everybody I work with to complete the tasks i have been set, I have never been treated any differently or looked at as just being the Apprentice.
Since switching training providers my course has become a lot more structured. My manager is willing to give me all the time i need to complete work on my Apprenticeship
Since i joined during a transitional period of training providers at M&G i was originally provided a very poor service by the orginial provider. Since switching to the new provider the support has been a lot better, they are more knowledgeable about the course and more responand to emails.
I have found that everybody at M&G, regardless of job title, has time for you and is willing to help you in any way they can.
The salary i recieve is very competitive and is more than enough to cover the costs of travelling in from Essex, Living and having a social life.
There is always something happening. As Apprentice we arrange regular lunches and in the past month i have played in M&G Football and Netball Tournaments.
Yes
A friendly working enviornment with plenty of support and opportunities to learn.
Reseach into the company, what they do and try to understand what your role would be - Be open and honest, they are more interested in getting to know you than what you already know.
