My role is to do with infrastructure implementation and dev ops as that is what my project does. On a day to day basis I am troubleshooting, coding, analysing data, in meetings and solving any issues that arise in the project. You can take on your own little tasks like service management or documentation to help create a balance.
I have developed my cloud knowledge, Azure, AWS etc and have learnt new languages like PowerShell. I have also further developed my Python knowledge through work. Moreover, documentation, reviewing and analysing data are all skills that I have developed through my apprenticeship. Furthermore, people skills, communication and presenting skills are all easily developed through the role.
I enjoy my program thoroughly as it is a good balance between education and work. All the information we learn is useful on a day to day basis in the work environment and can be applicable across all projects. The program is well structured and allows you to develop not only your skills but yourself as a person.
The program is well structured both from the universtiy aspect and work aspect. With university, a module lasts 10 weeks and you will only do one module at a time. Moreover, there are 2 workshops per module wehre you go to solidify the content you have been learning. Work is well structured as you are assigned to projects you have an interest in and there are plenty of people around to help if necessary.
My employer provides a ton of support to the apprenticehip program. There is always someone around to provide guidance, help or just someone to chat to. Everyone from management is rooting for us to do well and pass with flying colours and also develop as much business knowledge as possible.
The training provider give some support when we have any issues etc. Apprentices have a skills coach assigned to them. This person is someone they can talk to if there are any issues or they need some overall guidance when picking optional modules etc. Tutors are good for workshops and all og those I have had have been helpful and informative.
The qualification provides work orientated information and allows us to use it on a day to day basis. The conent we learn is always useful and can be applied across all projects. Some key parts of modules all me to better my work ethic and learn more Agile ways to do things.
I am part of Life @ Warwick which is a group of people that organise events and activities for those working in Warwick. There are also a few netowrking events over the year and the Christmas parties across all offices in the UK are one of the biggest networking events in Accenture.
Yes
It is a company that values you as a person and wants to help develop you and further your career. There is availability for progressing and there is no restrictions on what sector you want to go in so long as you have a drive, passsion and a few basic skills.
The tips I would give when applying is to be youself, harness the best parts/skills you have and be confident. You kno what you know and no one likes someone that pretends to know something they don't. The whole point is showing you are someone who is willing to learn, able to take on information easily and is adaptable.
