  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At Accenture you are able to pick a role and work on projects that you find interesting so this changes quite often. The current role that I am in consists of a lot of meetings in the mornings where we discuss the progress on specific tasks and the rest of the day is filled with things such as script creation, executing tests and analysis results.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learned many different skills since joining Accenture. One of the things that happens when you join is that you are given training for things such as Java programming. You also learn new skills based on the project you are doing - for example with a testing project you will learn how to use load testing tools such as LoadRunner and SoapUI. Furthermore, lots of training is available to all the employees so you can develop the skills further if you want to or choose to learn new skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The apprenticeship that I am on is very enjoyable for me, however there are some things that could be improved. For example the training provider (QA) is alright but they have a lot of issues with organizing things and getting in contact with them within a timely manner. As for the teams you work with they are all great and helpful - and always willing to help you learn.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program that we are on is organized very well. From the induction process you are provided a lot of support and training so that you can learn the basic skills needed for the job. You are also given time to study and work on the university studies if you need some extra time. Furthermore, you are assigned a skills coach by QA so that means you have someone to go when you have questions or need some help.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When it comes to support you can support whenever you need it. We have a list of contacts that can be contacted whenever you need some help or advice with someone. This support is very easily accessible by email or the messenger that we use. Even if you don't have a manager at the time and are not on a project you can easily contact HR since you have a specific person assigned to help you.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When working towards the qualifications and the degree you honestly don't get that much support unless you go out of your way to talk to the tutors - in which case you can get most questions answered. The only real training you get is 2 different workshops for each module - which honestly isn't much and if you don't keep up with the online work it makes the studying section of the apprenticeship very difficult.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Since we get such a variety of projects to work on the training doesn't always cover what we are doing on the job. I think training provider helps a little bit if your current project is what you're learning about - but otherwise the training doesn't impact your performance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Accenture has a lot of social activities that happen every week. There are often events throughout the week and every Friday. Furthermore, when you are working with clients they have their own events so that way there is always something to do if you are interested. As for networking events those happen every now and then and people are always sent invites in advance. There are also other events such as training where people can even get sent out to different countries to attend or just do it via the internet.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think Accenture is a great company to start your career. You are able to receive so much training and therefore learn and work on things that you enjoy. You are also able to work on projects that you think are interesting which makes working much easier and more enjoyable. Furthermore, the amount of social events and opportunities that Accenture provides is great. Lastly, there is a ladder to climb and you always have something to reach for when working here.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • I think that if you want to work at Accenture you need to have an interest in technology as the interview process will give you a chance to show your passion for this and help with being selected. The interviews are not too difficult so as long as you come prepared you will be fine.
