Roles across Accenture are hugely varied due to the sheer amount of clients that we work with across all industries. My role with my current client on a daily basis starts with an internal and external stand up. Both with our internal Accenture teams and the clients we are working to ensure that we are all aligned on what is required to complete our work for the day and if we anticipate any issue in progressing these through. We then work across teams to push our developments, changes and architectures through.
I have developed my articulation skills through constantly having to talk clients through the journey we are talking them on. With some of our client point of contacts not always having a technical background when it comes to technology, it is important to be able to explain key stagings in a way that covers all key areas but is also succinct and easy to understand.
The programme is well organised and provides apprentices with plenty of opportunities to grow and develop. When on projects you are not treated as someone that needs to be babied and spoon-fed, but instead as a core member of the team whose input is valued and sort after. The other members of staff across the business are friendly and supportive.
The programme is structure well. Degree apprentices get set days off to study/attend university and projects are accommodating of that. Apprentices are also slotted into communities within the business that help to structure the career path they wish to follow.
There is plenty of support available at Accenture. Apprentices are assigned buddies, who may be more senior apprentices or other full time employees at the firm to support in any issues we may face. For formally, apprentices are also paired up with more senior members of staff who check in regularly to ensure that we are happy with where we are and to help plan our career going forward.
Accenture are very supportive of the fact that apprentices will also need to peruse degree studies. Time is allocated during the week to attend university lectures and workshops and support is available should further study time be required. Apprentices are also given the opportunity to peruse professional certification and training.
The qualification that we receive as part of the degree us applicable to the roles available in the apprenticeship at Accenture. The degree also has optional modules that allow apprentices to purse other areas of interest
There are a vast number of clubs, sports and societies available for employees to join. There is also almost always an event going on every week
