I do a range of activities. From tracking Data related incident, into creating dashboards using the Tableau tool. I also use SQL tool for the views. Apart from that I lead a range of training session to the team and wider team. This is to help my team familiarize themselves with the tools in my team.
I have learned a range of skills. One of the skill is presentation skill. I know how to lead a meeting and how to lead a well drilled presentation. Secondly, I have learnt some new technical skills like using the Tableau software, some advanced Excel skills and also some Advanced SQL skills. There's more to come!
I have really enjoy the programme. From day one I have felt part of the team and part of the group which I'm happy to represent. The company culture is brilliant, constant support, no matter what. The team fits my needs and the work is good as it pushes my comfort zone.
Very organised. The Induction was very good. It did not rush the process which was important for me. From day one I had support from the team and the wider team, and I know where to go if I had problems. It's just a pleasure to work for such a company.
From day one I was greeted with a support from the apprenticeship team and my team as well. I know where to go if i had problems and I wasn't scared of asking any questions that I had. The support and attitude towards me was brilliant. I always felt welcome.
Work is combined with University. I felt anxious at first as I did not know how to combine the two. However, my team organized it well so I could always find time for my studies. I felt happy with this approach. I really enjoy the wider training too as it laps with the work I'm doing.
It really helps me to perform better. It's important to choose the right pathway for your role. Qualification helps to fill the gaps that you're having and work and the gaps that you're having in University. I feel more motivated and I know that this combined experience will be massive help for me in the future.
Sadly now we have to work from home. However, before the lockdown there was plenty of opportunities to be involved in work. Plenty of volunteering, there's a gym at work which helps you to get fit. There's also plenty of social events to improve relationship with your team.
Yes
Barclays is a brilliant place to work. Firstly because the community is brilliant. People are so supportive, so friendly. This helps you to get up from the bed with a happy face as you know that you're working in Barclays. Secondly, the skills that you will get in Barclays will help you in the future.
Be honest with yourself, important to have a positive approach. Be prepared for hard work. However, this would pay off. Be confident and be prepared to push yourself out of your comfort zones. There could be some situations, like presentation that you hate, but have to do it. Be prepared to fight your fears.
