Barclays Degree Programme involves studying for a degree in Business Management while working in role within Barclays. Various people from various roles within Barclays are on the programme giving great networking opportunities. The majority of the modules are vocational or work-based assignments allowing me to be involved with other projects, as well as working as a personal banker
It's been great to be able to develop work-based skills as well as the theory behind business management. The key skills which I've developed are presenting, analysis and critical thinking.
The programme is very enjoyable. The study blocks are a great chance to network with colleagues from varying backgrounds within Barclays. The support from both Barclays and the University is brilliant.
Organisation of the programme is usually handled by the university. The structure is great. I know well in advance what I'm expected to do and when. The module guides are clear and relevant.
Support from Barclays is great although there could be better communication between the programme leads and line managers of those on the programme.
ARU are absolutely brilliant. All the tutors are easy to contact and each person has a personal tutor who keeps in touch on a regular basis and is only ever a phone call away.
Being able to gain an insight into the theoretical elements of business management allows me a clearer understanding of the organisational structure and enhances my confidence in decision making.
Each area of Barclays has it's on social networks as well as regular events across Barclays allowing networking facetoface or via webex.
