My role involves the audit of Asset Management Clients. Mainly auditing their financial statements. This will include auditing the assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and equity balances of the client. As all clients are unique in their own way, it always brings good challenges as we always have to better our understanding.
Yes, I have learnt many new skills from my practical experience, for example the many different revenue streams that vary from client to client and how clients capitalise their assets or even their expenses. I have learnt in a practical way, what evidence to look out for and how to be sceptical.
I absolutely love my programme as it is has been a very valuable learning experience for me since the day I started as I am always given the opportunity to try something new or gain a new type of experience. I was fortunate to also try out different departments within my firm.
I feel my programme is very well structured as it is a very large programme with several different routes being offered to all apprentices, I feel that the management team have looked after and ran the programme very well, given the size and complexity of the program I am very impressed.
My employer is always supporting regardless of what it is I need to ask or need support with. I feel like every time I have a questions there is always a department that I can reach to or a mailbox that I can contact to request the assistance I need at anytime.
My training provider has teamed up with a very good and established college and therefore there is always a tutor available when I required support with my studies. There is a coach who I can reach to for general questions and there is a designated tutor for each model for more technical questions.
My qualifications are extremely important as I feel like I learn the core principles through my study which I then apply to my practical work. This strengthens the quality of work I produce and gives me that boost of confidence when it comes to more complex tasks or more advanced tasks.
Yes there is regularly forums and social events being offered to all apprentices for us to build our networking skills and to encourage to get involved and support our local communities. We are regularly encourage to be more socially active and to build our network at every opportunity possible to better our career.
