Editing collateral warranties, learning about work as a solicitor, taking part in group exercises such as a mock employment tribunal and a business task where we had to use our problem solving skills to solve issues facing businesses. Also we got to do research on different areas of law and apply it to an issue to see what the law says about a particular issue.
My problem solving and communication skills vastly improved throughout the work experience as the tasks given utilised these skills as I has to be clear and concise throughout the tribunal as well as the business task. My time management and organisation improved as I had to sort out the best way to approach many tasks and keep to the time scale given.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience and I feel that Pinsent Masons had put a great deal of effort into insuring we get the best experience. I always had something to do and learnt a lot about the profession I want to enter and the work that needs to be done.
The work experience was very well organised and we were al given a pack with an itenary included. The week was packed with talks and work for us to learn and get involved. All flowed seamlessly to the other which proved the experience had been well thought out for us.
I learnt a great deal about Pinsent Masons not just about the work the company does but what the company does for its employees, with other activities such as 5 aside football and yoga. I got the sense that Pinsents was a family which cared for its employees and rewarded them for the hard work that went employees put in.
The work experience and confirmed my choice of career and I now feel in a much more informed position for September. In fact the experience had made me even more excited to study law as it gave me a greater insight to the sheer amount of sectors in law and how the work varies in each
Yes, lunch was fully paid for and all travel expenses were reimbursed. The experience came at no cost to us which I extremely appreciate and it makes you feel valued and wanted.
We were introduced to all employees in the section we were working with and able to talk and ask questions to any of them if we had something to ask
Yes
The staff are extremely welcoming, the general atmosphere is lively which isn’t how I pictured an office to be like, the office has a lot of great resources.
Be confident and get involved in everything Pinsent offers to make the most of the experience as there really is a lot you can learn from the experience.
