Attending meetings and shadowing Partners and your buddy. Also giving presentations on a particular subject and various assessments.
I have developed numerous attributes such as: General professionalism, business etiquette, communication skills, business writing skills, team work and confidence just to name a few.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience on the business academy programme at EY! I have learnt a lot during my time here and appreciated all the time and effort people have laid aside to help me further my learning!
Extremely well organised. On our first day we were instantly met with our buddy and taken to get our very own laptop. This laptop had our own email already logged in which contained our timetable and calendar for the week so everything was clear!
I learnt that communication and team work is key for a successful business to further thrive. Everyone working here has a positive mindset and motivated to work their hardest. The offices are pristine and lots of complimentary services are available such as free tea and coffee whenever you want. Also, they are very flexible while working here in the respect that you can work at home when you want providing all work is completed on time. I hope to be able to work here myself soon!
This work experience has virtually lead to my decision on my future career path. I would love to get onto one of EY's apprenticeship schemes for 2020 and start my career off in the right direction! I love the idea of working in such an established business with competitive salaries and great services in place to really boost my education and make me a better person.
We were paid £6.50 per hour for working 7 hours a day so overall we all earned £227.50. This is extremely generous as when I was applying I was not even aware we were getting paid!
Yes, definitely. There is a communal area between the offices on the 8th and 9th floor. This area is used for eating your lunch or to just sit down and socialise. You meet new people every day and can sit down or talk to whoever you want and like I said, everyone is friendly and approachable so you will not have problems making any friends!
Yes
They are a professional established business who's aim is to help all their employees become the best version of themselves. From what I've heard from talking to current employees is that there are more than enough support systems in place for you to go to if you have any questions or require any help in the task you're completing. The offices are amazing and I feel like a valued part of the business already.
The application process is quite long but certainly worth it. If you are successful in gaining a place in the business academy then at the end of your week you could be in with a chance to be offered a business apprenticeship for the following year after you have finished your a levels! This is amazing as it will take pressure of your exams and start your career path in the most positive way possible! Be yourself and stay calm during the application process. Confidence and communication skills is key!
