I shadowed a senior and also had the opportunity to attend meetings and give a presentation in front of partners. I conducted research reports and carried out stat reviews. I had both a buddy and a counselling manager to guide me throughout the week.
I developed my skills of communication and business writing. I also learnt a lot from the partners about giving presentations and was able to sit and have discussions with them.
I had an amazing time and really enjoyed it.
It was well organised. On the first day we each received a laptop and business email, we were given a timetable. Leading up to the week I received a lot of emails with updates and information.
I learnt a lot about learning at EY and found making connections enjoyable as everyone was extremely friendly, encouraging and helpful.
The work experience has guided me towards a future career path perhaps in finance.
Yes. I was paid an hourly salary.
Yes there were many opportunities to arrange meetings not just in assurance but also other service lines as well. I found this particularly useful as it gave me a great insight into the workplace and working environment. Meeting employees and having the opportunity to talk to them was extremely useful.
Yes
The support and guidance given was invaluable to me. It has been such an amazing week and I have learnt so much in a different yet professional environment. I think it would be beneficial to anyone considering a role in this industry as it allows you to shadow and experience what it would be like working here at EY.
The application process can be quite lengthy and can consist of many stages including multiple tests and interviews. Show how passionate you are, try your best and don't give up- it is quite a competitive programme. Be yourself. Good luck.
