My work experience placement involved an induction day at the start where we got to know about the professional services PwC provides and how they work. Also over the week we got to shadow various people in the business and we were informed about the school and college leaver programmes available at PwC
I got to develop staple skills such as teamwork and communication. I also got to develop my confidence overall by constantly interacting with people who I do not know. I was given tips in how to approach assessment centres and interviews. I was given some things to research when preparing for interviews, etc.
I enjoyed my work experience for the vast majority of the placement. There were some times where there was not much to do but these instances were not often and overall it was very enjoyable. Particularly, we got to prepare and present to the full cohort in teams which I found very enjoyable.
We got a schedule for what we were going to do for the whole week and after the induction day, we got a timetable of who we were going to be shadowing on the following days so we could get to know them and so I would say that it was very well organised.
I learnt quite a lot about the company culture. The office atmosphere here is very relaxed since they maintain a social aspect even if they had quite a lot of work. The people are very friendly and willing to speak with me. There is also an importance in core values within the PwC which is something I support.
I think that this week has really opened my eyes to the amount of great opportunities that are available to me which aren't just going to University. I have now started to consider other options such as higher apprenticeships or even the degree programme that they have to offer.

Yes there was. The people I was shadowing allowed me to get to speak to other people in different lines of service, get a little background information from them and they even answered questions if I had any to ask to them. We got to speak to apprentices, graduates and even senior managers as well.
Yes
The culture and environment at PwC is very friendly and welcoming - there is a great sense of community in the office regardless of how many employees are here. From what I've heard from other people, the career progression is quite clear and there seems to be ample opportunity to switch between lines of service.
I have a few tips that I would say are key to successfully applying to PwC. Firstly, when approaching any group work, try to take the initiative to show your leadership skills. Also to prepare for the interview, search for typical questions that the Big 4 may ask during the interview and practice your potential answers. Research about PwC and specific lines of service which you are interested in to show genuine enthusiasm. Overall, the main thing is to stand out from the crowd but not be too imposing as this can lead to the opposite effect.
