On the first day we had an induction, introducing us to the various lines of service within PwC. We were also put in teams to work together to make a presentation to be performed on the last day. The rest of the week we were shadowing people within the company, learning about their roles, how they got into PwC and hearing overall advice on career progression and more.
From the team presentation the main skills we were able to develop were team work, communication-both digitally and face to face, and presenting in front of a group. The work shadowing gave networking experience.
The work experience was very varied and we were with different people doing different things every day, and this made it interesting and enjoyable throughout
Very well organised we were given timetables about who we were with and when, and provided with bags and laptops for the week to allow us to get involved.
The people we spoke to were very open and honest about what the culture was like and what their experiences were having worked there.
Getting to talk to people who had taken different pathways into the company and how they found that (not everyone had gone to uni) was helpful to think about what we could do in the future.
Yes we were paid hourly.
Yes lots. we had a different buddy we were shadowing on each day, and they introduced us to lots of different people who told us about their work and what they had done in their career.
Yes
You get a really good introduction to professional service and get to meet with lots of people and find out about their careers and hwo they got to where they were, and wat they would suggest you do. What your doing changes every day and you get paid for the week.
Go onto the website and read whatever you can find about the company, their values and what they expect from their employees and try to reference anything you find out in interviews or assessment days as this will show that you've really thought about the company and why you are applying.
