  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • Very well organised. Joining instructions given by email and contact established with buddy a couple of weeks prior to joining. Google calendar used to keep track of all events and timings- extremely useful

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It helped a lot as I was given good advice from Higher Apprentices who were very relatable. I was also given good advice from Graduates from many different backgrounds who joined PwC on their graduate scheme. I was given clarity on a lot of confusions I joined with such as what an apprenticeship entails and how beneficial it is in the long run. I then was opportuned to talk to those who had been in the firm for over a decade to hear about career progression at PwC and how to choose if this is the career for me. I was given the emails of the people I spoke to and I left with a bank of connections and a lot of sound advice.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • Yes, this was just a 1 week experience that was paid very well. The money given was very generous of firm. However, the firm is located in central London and lunch prices were very expensive which was a bit straining. On top of this travel expenses were not reimbursed but the cost of travel was very very expensive. This was the least enjoyable part of my experience.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Yes, my buddy booked many meetings for me with different people from different walks of life- apprentices, graduates, managers and even partners. This allowed me to see the firm from different perspectives. I went for social drinks on the penultimate evening which let me interact with employees of different positions and in different clusters all in the Consulting line of service. This let me develop my network.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It was enjoyable on all days, it was interactive, I gained so many skills and got insight into the firm that I couldn't have got anywhere else. I have an advantage over my peers when it comes to applying for an apprenticeship as I am now fast tracked in the application process. I have a buddy that I can message whenever. I made money for a weeks worth of work experience.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
