Getting an insight into the operations of PwC - I had the opportunity to experience multiple departments of PwC's operations (in my case: tax, actuarial and assurance). As well as undertaking work for the business and help our buddies, we took part in skills-developing activities such as a group presentation, to help develop our employability skills.
We undertook various activities to help develop our team building and networking and relationship skills. These were put to the test throughout the week to help develop them further within PwC's offices and departments, aiding us to get a further insight into the business' operations. We also undertook group presentations, which helped us to develop presentation, teamwork and time management skills.
The work experience programme at PwC was very in-depth, with a lot of activities to do each day, and these engaging activities made it very enjoyable. Lots of the activities were group activities as well, including making friends, which furthered the enjoyment gained from the week's work experience programme.
The work experience programme was very well organised, with many activities taking place with the student recruitment team, and multiple tasks to complete. Whilst shadowing employees in the departments, many planned activities for us to undertake, however sometimes there were fewer things we could do due to lack of qualifications and confidentiality.
The weeks experience was a good insight into the company's friendly and welcoming culture, and it is a place I could see myself fitting into.
PwC's work experience programme gave me a great insight into the world of professional services and accountancy, which is something I feel I could see as a career for me.
We were paid for our work.
When shadowing employees in departments, there were lots of opportunities to network and meet other employees across all business areas.
Yes
PwC is a friendly, welcoming and engaging company with varied work opportunities. The Business Insight Week programme gave a good insight into the world of professional services and accountancy too.
I think despite the lengthy application process, do not be put off by it as it is worth it. For those who join the programme, there are many ways to meet new people and get a great insight into the world of work, which should be relished.
