The work experience here was amazing- it was really planned out well, and you always had something to do. The environment is unmatched because of how chill it is- however, all the employees do the work they need to and more. Overall, I would really recommend doing this work experience as it opens doors for you and looks nice on your c.v.
I learnt all about financial reports, statements and audits. Also, I gained valuable experience in the world of work. Notable skills that I have developed are teamwork and networking skills- I have made friends on LinkedIn with some of the employees here. Also, I have had to meet new people.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and would seriously consider applying for either a job, an apprenticeship or a flying start University degree, which PwC all do for Students. The work experience was informative, engaging and fun. I would say that my time here was well spent and perfect for me.
Throughout my time here, I did not waste a second, taking advantage of both the people and the company as a whole. For every day, we were assigned a "buddy", which is basically someone who is an employee here to help us. Shout out to Mengxi, Zak and Tom who were our buddies for the week.
So, before coming to PwC, I didn't know much about their culture and atmosphere, so I was a little nervous. However, straight away, I learnt that the culture here is one of acceptance, and I believe that working here would be a privilege and the work ethic is pretty good here too.
Again, I was initially a little bit unsure on what potential career paths I could pursue post A level (Sixth form). However, my placement on this programme, the Business insight week, has helped me decide on what I want to do now. PwC as a business offers many career paths for students.
Yes, I was given an hourly wage of the amount of nine pounds and sixty four pence sterling. However, I was paid from 9 am to 5 30 pm every day. The money given to me through this went towards the train fare, which cost me around £50 for the week.
Yes, me and my partner for the week got to meet fellow members of staff, including associates, senior associates, managers and partners. They were extremely friendly and added me and my partner on LinkedIn, improving our future career prospects and giving us a valuable insight into work and employee life at PwC.
Yes
Overall, I would recommend the company PwC to anyone who is serious about rolling their sleeves up and getting down to serious work. This company offers amazing mobility, as many of their Partners and managers started off at PwC, and through hard work moved up the ranks to senior positions.
Be prepared to work hard during your time here, and you should approach the week with an open mind, ready to learn and question your buddies. Also, you must make the most of this experience, as it can really pay off. There's no need to worry about applying here.
