I generally work as a cashier, serving customers. I also make sure my work area is tidy and face up the shop where I can and I also have been trained on date alert where i check all the dates on chilled produce.
I have learnt that I have very good customer service and learnt a lot of new things and terms that I didnt know, I have thoroughly enjoyed learning the date checking and enjoy the shifts I do that on.
I really enjoy the course I am on I am learning so much and am thankful that I have had the opportunity to do it as I am one of the older colleagues at work.
It is very well organised and structured as I know exactly what I need to get done before the next visit and if I ever have a problem I know that I can always contact my trainer
I do receive support from my employer as it has opened up new opportunities for me and they are trying to help me grow more in the business, and lately I have found it much easier to speak to my manager about the course.
I receive so much as they are there whenever I need help with anything and when I email work over I get responses as soon as they can, and the visits are so helpful
I feel it helps a lot especially with the communication section and how to communicate with certain customers and staff, and it has helped me realise that I have very good customer service
I wouldn't say there are many but I have helped out our talking shop rep on charity events and they have been trying to set up a time for colleagues to have an evening out together.
Yes
Especially in the shop I work in the staff are so friendly and we sell some really good products that aren't available anywhere else. I have loved working at Iceland and see myself there for many years to come
I would say be yourself, confident and happy. Its scary starting somewhere new but when I started I was made to feel right at home
