Picking and packing stock Checking and improving store figures Providing training for staff Supporting store manager to ensure the store is successfully running Achieving KPI's Making sure your store is legal and complaint by making sure Flo folder is correctly signed and product recalls are followed correctly also following GDPR regulations.
I have learned how to manage, coach and develop a team of people in groups or one to ones also about how to achieve KPI's and business needs to assure the business is operational, also it makes you learn to see your job differently e.g product placement and product occatiation to maximize sales.
At first the programme wasnt very good for me due to poor trainer and unsupportive store manager but then I spoke to my area manager and the issue got solved quickly by giving me a new trainer who was amazing and got me threw the course when I didn't think I would and he made my manager put more effort in to ensure I passed my course.
At first it wasnt very organised, for the first few months my first trainer wasn't very good and didn't do much to help me in my programme but then after I spoke up everything was sorted, got a new trainer and got threw the apprenticeship and was motivated to do my work.
Not a great deal! Which is a shame but after a few months I spoke to my area manager and my new trainer and it quickly got sorted. It was hard to get the right support from my store as it's only a small store and everyone was extremely busy.
At the beginning not much but then I got my new trainer and the support was amazing I was actually happy to be doing my apprenticeship and felt very motivated because my trainer was very straight to the point but knew how to have a laugh at the same time.
Every single part of the programme is very important to my job role from customer to business needs to store KPI's. It all is very impactful and has made me learn a lot and implement in to my every day job role. It makes you see retail in more detail.
No. We currently do not have anything like this but the team are very close with each other and will occasionally go out with each other and communicate out of work with each other but I do think this could be a great idea to implement in to the business.
Yes
I would recommend iceland to a friend because it is a very friendly place of work and once you settle in (which does not take long) you will be part of a important family of people who like what they do and Iceland will train you to your specific potential
Make sure you are a people person because you will be working with a team of people who enjoy there job and what to succeed within the company and you will have to interact with customers on a daily basis and iceland are so customer based this is important to ensure sales growth and good publicity
