Technician Trainee Tasks carried out involve filing, drawing out steelwork, foundations and drainage on autocad and pdms design software packages.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to interpret engineering drawings and learnt about various engineering terms, methods of construction and properties of materials used.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Costain allows me to work within a design team on active projects. The apprenticeship meets my expectations well. I enjoy the friendly helpful environment that allows me to progress my skills within engineering fully.

My line manager and other Costain employees I work with give me praise and recogniton for the work I do.

The Apprenticeship Is organised well providing training in all areas of engineering.

I receive sufficient advise and help from my training provider.

Because of the friendly engineering environment that allows progression and skills in engineering quickly and more efficiently than a university course in engineering.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Costain?

Make sure the candidate puts accross his enthusiasm and passion for engineering in the interview.
