  • Technician Trainee Tasks carried out involve filing, drawing out steelwork, foundations and drainage on autocad and pdms design software packages.

  • I have learnt how to interpret engineering drawings and learnt about various engineering terms, methods of construction and properties of materials used.

  • Costain allows me to work within a design team on active projects. The apprenticeship meets my expectations well. I enjoy the friendly helpful environment that allows me to progress my skills within engineering fully.

  • My line manager and other Costain employees I work with give me praise and recogniton for the work I do.

  • The Apprenticeship Is organised well providing training in all areas of engineering.

  • Because of the friendly engineering environment that allows progression and skills in engineering quickly and more efficiently than a university course in engineering.

  • Make sure the candidate puts accross his enthusiasm and passion for engineering in the interview.
