My role included managing and uploading all the products that go on the website. This would involve liasing with the copywriters, and the buying and merchandising teams to make sure all the unfortunate on that eventually gets published is accurate and aids the overall presentation of the product to the customer. I would also be responsible for sending products to our photography agency to be photographed
Learnt how to use Spree Commerce and Dynamics365. Honing in my attention to detail to make sure that nothing was published with the incorrect information, and everything looked as good as possible in terms of the merchandising of the website. I was also challenged to work to tight deadlines and under pressure to manage and prioritise my own workload in order to meet and manage deadlines and expectations
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. My team were all really nice and welcoming. I enjoyed attending the team Trade meetings weekly to get a better understanding of how our online team in particular make such a huge contribution to the trading point of view of the company each week.
I didn’t think the programme itself had much structure. I was left to my own devices a lot of the time which was fine but perhaps a bit more one on one time with my line manager would have helped assure me that I was doing the right thing
Whenever I needed help, my manager was very willing to assist. Mostly everyone was supportive. Although I would say that you get thrown in the deep end immediately and it’s a test to whether you sink of swim in that situation. One day of training on the system and then you’re left to your own devices

Yes, I was slightly disappointed in the lack of team activities that occurred whilst I had my time there. I was hoping for a much more sociable team perhaps and to be going out for drinks often etc but there wasn’t any of that whilst I was there.
Yes
The company itself is awesome! The history of it all is so interesting and as a company, the fact they’re still a leading luxury gift shop 300 plus years on is testament to their amazing employees and leadership
I would say make sure that you are engaging and willing to learn anything and quickly. Adaptable, organised and kind!
