  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I was a junior associate auditor. My daily activities in the office were mainly doing monotonous tasks that are needed to be done for the interim period of an audit. Work on client site was much more varied and I was required to do a varied amount of audit work.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Learnt about the business world in general, gained a much stronger grasp as to how audits are run and the main issues and challenges that the average auditor faces. Learnt a lot about how to audit at a beginners level and I learnt how to act in a professional environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme for what it was, I learnt a lot about how to audit and the business world. At the end of the day work is work so saying I woke up every morning excited to go work, wouldn't be true, but I appreciated the experience.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The work I did in audit on client site didn't have a lot to do with my actual exam. However any time I needed some technical help, all other staff were very knowledgeable and helped me understand what I was doing using their accounting knowledge.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not a lot, most of the work I did did not require any previous accounting knowledge, the work I mainly did was excel work as opposed to accounting work.
