Assisting a team of auditors in planning executing and completing an interim or year end check of a companies financial statements
I have learnt how to individual test balances within the financial statements to confirm audit assertions. I have develop my existing communication and team-working skills
I really enjoy being able to have a mix of working life, gaining valuable work experience, whilst at the same time working towards a degree and living university life.
The programme is very well structured. A clear syllabus is set out describing what you're going to be learning and how that contributes to your ACA providing you pass your exams.
My personal experience has been very good. My more experienced colleagues guided me through the process with patience and it helped me learn very quickly. I feel like this is the case with most people. However, like in any workplace, some people are more willing to help than others.
A lot of support is provided with regards to exams. Workshops are set up to provide extra help closer to the time and a detailed walkthrough of what the exam will entail is also given.
The qualification is integral to the role and so the knowledge you gain whilst studying is used directly in the job role.
There are social events that happen within your social team, however I feel there could be more in regards to sports availability.
Yes
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC. I have been fully immersed in the role of an auditor thanks to getting myself involved and being willing to do anything, as well as my co-workers helping me tremendously. The company has a great work life culture.
Utilise your soft-skills to the maximum. You must be academically clever to work for a company like PwC however the soft skills such as communication and simply being confident and using initiative are equally if not more valuable.
