As a flying start 1 , my role on this placement was to complete EGA's assigned to me by my seniors, I was given work relating to testing, planning and completion. Regarding of test of details, I tested Cost of Sales, Opex, revenue and payroll. I performed a number of planning and completion EGA's. Towards the end of my placement, I was given EGA's which needed professional judgement.
Yes, I have definitely developed my communication and team working skills. I believe my leadership skills have been enhanced as I took full responsibility of my work and ensured my team knew where I stood with the work assigned to me. My business acumen skills have certainly improved tremendously. Although not a skill, this placement has boosted my confidence as well.
The programme is exciting yet challenging. It's a good mix of university along with work experience. With the work experience that we get, it is easier to grasp concepts taught to us. I would recommend this programme to anyone looking into it as we get the opportunity to qualify quickly.
The programme is very well structured. We learn a module in September and apply the knowledge on our placement the next month. We then come back in January and sit for the exam. After working for three months, sitting for exams immediately after is really useful as everything that we've learnt is fresh.
I have received sufficient support throughout my placement. My career coach has been there throughout, helping me with anything I needed. The seniors on my teams were extremely supportive as well, answering all of my questions even though they were busy with their own work. The flying start champions were extremely helpful as well.
We receive sufficient support from our training provider. The seniors on my teams were extremely supportive, answering all of my questions even though they were busy with their own work.
The qualification modules are directly linked to the work we do. The qualification and the training we receive are complementary to each other. With the training we receive, the qualification is easier to understand and with the modules we learn durinf our qualification, our work is easier to understand and complete.
Yes, there are several networking events and social activities.
Yes
PwC is a prestigious firm who take care of their employees. The work experience that they offer is extremely great.
I would advise them to prepare for their interviews well in advance. When they do get into PwC, I would advise them to network in networking and social events as much as they can and keep in contact with the seniors and managers they've worked with.
