My experience at Fortnum and mason was amazing. I had learnt a lot in such a short time. I was doing a different job every day and learning new things each day. Colleagues and managers were very supportive and welcoming. I really enjoyed my time over there and hope to be able to go back.
I was working in the hospitality department. I learnt how to answer phones calls from the reservation department, I assisted at events, i participated and supported the red coats and different teams, I explored the food tech department, I have also participated to the weekly financial report of every restaurant.
My experience was really inspiring. I have enjoyed working in every department and I have learnt all the different aspects of work. During my time at Fortnum I realised that working in a good atmosphere with my colleagues was very important, and that coming to work with a positive attitude makes all the difference. Whilst I work at Fortnum and mason I’ve seen that team work was really important in order to overcome all dally challenges.
My work experience was well organised. I had my schedule of the week, and on that schedule was all the information that I needed ( the person that I was with, from what time and day I was with them and all the jobs that they had planed out for me.
I had learnt a lot. My first day there was a induction day and during that induction day there was an hour of Fortnum and Mason’s history which was very interesting. I’ve learnt as well how all the employees work as a team during the very busy times.
This work experience did really help me in confirming my choice of study. I enjoyed working with the customers and making sure I could help them find what they were looking for. It was really rewarding when clients were leaving the store happy and satisfied. They would come back to Fortnum knowing that the staff working there was helpful and welcoming.
Lunch was paid as I was in hospitality and on a working experience
Yes, plenty of opportunities to meet with other employees working in other departments
Yes
I would recommend Fortnum as I have learnt so much in such a short time and it is a great opportunity.
Go for it :)
