My day to day role is a building services mechanical engineer working on a project delivering specific mechanical packages, this entails learning the technical detail, working with operatives on site and dealing with sub-contractors
Each day brings a new challenge and no 2 days are the same, the first year of my traineeship I learnt the fundamentals of building services engineering and each moment from there onwards has been honing my skills.
I very much enjoy the programme, some days are toucher than others however this is what helps develop you as an engineer and develop you as a person.
I couldn't ask for more in terms of organisation, I have a personalised, detailed development plan with tells me the exact steps I need to complete in order to become a senior engineer.
We have a learning and development manager that is willing you help anyone with anything they may be struggling with, for example I was worried about my maths prior to starting my university course with the company so the learning and development team supported me with maths tutoring.
From additional free tutoring funded by the company to study days away from work when required, in terms of company support I could not ask for a great deal more.
I feel as though the training provided was good however could have been better, I definitely learnt more whilst working on the project itself.
All of the above are available and provided by the company.
Yes
Generally a top draw company to work for.
Be willing, do your research & always improve your knowledge.
