Working within the Visual Merchandising team, helping them with christmas decorations and displays throughout the store. Helping them to restock and decorate christmas trees in the christmas section. Helped with a reorganisation of the layout of menswear and ladyswear departments including new display within one cabinet and three table displays.
How a visual merchandising team works, how they plan in advance for future displays and new layouts, how they cope with the busy christmas period.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was well organised, but there was a little confusion in the first week about getting our expenses paid (we were not told that we were getting them paid and didn't keep lunch receipts in first few days).
Had a day long induction on the first day, which was very useful and helpful in getting to know the company culture.
Helped me to decide that i want to carry on with a career in visual merchandising and opened my eyes to the different types of employees out there.
No pay, but lunch and travel expenses were paid for (although this wasn't said on the first day)
There was a staff canteen and we had lunch with the team every day in there. The job involved working with colleagues in all other departments as well.
Yes
Very well organised, nice work culture, beautiful shop, beautiful products.
Find out early if there are any expenses to be paid if you are applying for work experience.
