Graduate Trainee program. Over a duration of 2 years Graduates are expected to rotate businesses areas to four differing businesses units (approx. 6 months each).
The skills you develop depend wholeheartedly on where you are directed for particular placements. In essence these placements will provide you with a whole new set of skills that you finesses throughout the two years as you move through the company
The program is engaging in content and helps to get students thinking more actively about how they are in the workplace. The nature of the course leaves a significant amount of information up for discussion/interpretation. This can sometimes make this difficult to apply as a prescribed skill or action into the workplace.
The program is clearly set out from the outset and it is easy to plan in when you require time away from desk. The structure is clear and assignments are clearly correlated to this
Due to the nature of a rotational scheme you will not get consistent support throughout your time. Each manager will allow differing levels of time for you to have off the job. It is possible to fight for this time as your right and receive it however this will impact the level to which you can succeed in your daily role as your teams consider this time away from your responsibilities. There is an underlying understanding that apprenticeships give apprentices too much time off and therefore you should not take what is owed.
Standard levels of support. Trainers do not go above and beyond but will be happy to provide extra help asked
Due to the length of my program, the change in working approach happens slowly over a significant period of time
