I am front-line communication between my company and telecommunications companies/ Datacentres. We discuss purchasing of products/services and provisions orders from choosing a product all the way to it being installed and tested. I have to speak to many people on the phone/email everyday and plan conf calls, meetings etc
yes many. Communication has become excellent (i am in the comms team) I have learnt a lot of technical knowledge and industry knowledge. Have learnt a lot about the workplace and have improved my organisation and planning skills immensely I have learnt a small amount of theory from QA. when we did the networks fundamentals part it did have use and did help with my role.
I do enjoy it. I find it very interesting and working in the net ops department of a company that is at the forefront of technological progress when it comes to Private networks. QA is very bad though. Bad course. Bad.
The internal apprenticeship team in HR is very good. They set up a bunch of events that promote building bonds and are just generally lovely people. We are completely encouraged to come to them with any problem, big or small. I hardly doubt any apprenticeship scheme has a HR department more on point than this one. QA is bad. Due to their rigid marking structure for my portfolio (like a year-long thesis) I am forced to change department so i can tick the "hardware" section that involves NEEDING to physically change hardware. I find this ridiculous. QA is an IT apprenticeship company that fails to acknowledge that not all jobs in the IT require physically installing/changing hardware. Due to this [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] I need to leave my team temporarily to pretend to install some ram etc... Alot of support. as previous said, HR is on point and makes me feel very comfortable. My team are also lovely and have taught me nearly all i know regarding telecoms. Very good. There is also something called BU (Bloomberg university) That has hundreds of courses o all sorts of things that you can learn.
Not much. We have meeting every so often (around every month and a half) which are not very interesting or helpful. However, this might change when the deadline for the portfolio comes closer. We will have to see. I also feel like they do nothing to help people pass the tests. My friend [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] failed all his exams and they didnt reach out to him once to try and give him extra lessons to get on track. If someone is struggling you would sit down and see whats wrong and see what you can do to help them pass.
Not at alllllllllll. Outdated Microsoft Technology Associate qualifications arent helping anyone lets be honest.
Many. Im going to start track cyling soon... on a velodrome.... Thats MAD!! And being in my department, telcos take me out to dinner and have many events (as im essentially their client) so its pretty great. Couldnt ask for more. im sure there is still alot of activities im unaware of.
Yes
Its the best. The work culture is amazing. I did business studies at A level and this company ticks nearly every box for a good, socially responsible company. With an excellent management style that promotes collaboration at every level and does not look at people in a narrow way, with lots of opportunity to move around the company.
Be yourself. they will see through falseness. If your not passionate about working here dont apply. Be nice and respectable. dont big yourself up. Make sure when you say you are good at something, you prove it. Eg Wrong Im good at communication Right Im good at communication, while working at mcdonalds i had to communicate to many different people in a faced pace environment. I had to speak and listen while also working.... etc.
