My role is based on the parts side of the company. on a day-to-day basis role is committed to the control and movement of the parts, whether that being sold to customers on the front counter, back counter or over the phones. It also involves stock management and stock delivery in the mornings.
I have developed and improved my communication skills when talking to customers over the phone and also in person. I have also developed and improved my knowledge of certain parts on the different types of trucks and where to find them. I use these skills day in, day out which has help me to improve the way in which I work and how efficient I work.
Ever since I started my apprenticeship I have none stopped learning, everyday there is a new challenge which I face and something new I learn. I have a passion in my job to achieve the best possible results and provide the best possible customer service possible to customer at the front counter, back counter and over the phones.
I feel as my apprenticeship is very organised and laid out very clear for me. This makes it very easy for me to learn new and improved skills. I have had constant help and support from colleges around me, whether it be from showing me where a part is to helping me send an old part back.
I get a lot of help from my employer and from the people around me. this makes me feel more comfortable while being at work because I know if I ever get stuck with anything then I can ask and they will support me in finding out what I need or how to do something.
I receive plenty of help from my learner. If their are any questions which I have or am struggling with anything I know that I can email them and ask questions. When they come in to see me for my meetings they also ask me how i have feel the work has gone and if I found it tricky.
I feel as some parts of the qualification are focused just towards the parts side of the job and I have managed to incorporate these into my everyday work style and improving the way in which I go about certain jobs differently and also looking at them from multiple ways.
there are no extra-curricular activities which are held with in the company, we do have a company intranet which other jobs and intercompany positions are posted on and also certain things in which people have been noticed for are posted on for the rest of the company to see and comment on and like.
Yes
From my personal experience I have been welcomed into the team very well and have managed to get along with my peers in the parts department but also the technicians in the workshop and feel like I am part of the team. They also make sure to go out of their way to make sure I'm okay in the work in which I have been given.
I would tell them to come into the job with an open mind and to try and make conversation with as many people as they can, the banter between colleges is good and as long as they have a good sense of humour then they will be able to fit into the team and depot fine.
