I have learnt key IT, Excel and Word documentation skills and I now know which is the most effective for the required job. I have also learnt some key interaction and communication skills, which is extremely useful for my role as I attend a lot of meetings in which I have to talk to new people.
I really enjoy my programme as it has given me a great insight into the world of business and I have already learnt skills that I can take out of the workplace such as time management, communication skills and organisational skills. It has also allowed me to meet new people and make new friends.
In terms of the work planned it has a very well organised structure and the work flows well. However, the IT set up and security was not well organised and took a while to get it all sorted which did delay the work rate at the beginning of the placement.
I receive a lot of support and guidance from my manager and my team, along with my fellow apprentices and I feel like I can rely on all people within the apprenticeship to help me when I have a concern or problem and they will help to come up with a neutral solution.
I receive great support from my assessors with regards to my end of apprenticeship assessments as all our college assignments help towards it, so we don't do any work that doesn't help towards it so we know we are using our time effectively and that none of the work we do complete is just wasted.
I believe it gives me essential skills that help me perform my day to day job easier and to a higher standard and allows me to express myself more in my role as I feel more confident in certain areas and that I can complete my work with less supervision.
Yes there are many events for us to get involved in such as a 5 a side football tournament, Trade Union Rep, Princes Trust, Outward bound Ambassador etc. These are all very helpful extra-curricular activities as they allow you to meet new people, try new things and learn helpful skills.
Yes

Use examples that set you apart from the crowd, and read all application questions thoroughly to ensure you are answering exactly what the question is asking. Also, be creative with your answers as being out of the box will make you more memorable and will leave a better first impression.
