As I am still training, I am moved around each department a few times a year, I go to college weekly, I am currently building up my skills and knowledge to ensure that when I have completed the apprenticeship I am in a perfect position to continue within the business.
Within my first year I learnt lots of new skills and continued many others. I learnt manufacturing techniques, which are not only beneficial within the business, but some techniques will help me in everyday life. I have also learnt how to use CAD software and I have learnt a variety of electronic methods.
I really enjoy my programme because I am with friendly people who have similar interests. My programme has also put me in a fantastic position for my future within the business. My programme also allows me to learn new techniques and methods of completing work. Overall I am really enjoying my apprenticeship with BAE Systems.
My programme is really well structured and is created in a way to ensure that I am learning and developing my skills ready for the future. The current rotation of departments that I am doing also ensures that I am learning how other areas work and how I can progress my position.
My employer supports me incredibly well. I receive good support with my work, and I am sure if I had any issues, that they would guide me and advise me. I have regular meetings with the Apprenticeship Leaders who help me with my NVQ work to ensure I am always progressing.
My training provider sets me relevant assignments and ensures that I am completing it in a timely manner and that it is to a high standard. The assignments in which I am set are always relevant to work I am completing on site. I am progressing quickly with my training provider.
My training provider helps my massively as the work is well related to the work that I am doing within the business. Pieces of work that I complete are checked to ensure that I have got an accurate grasp of what I am doing. Whilst completing college work, I am given good advise and good direction.
There are lots of extra curricular activities, these are mainly STEM events. STEM events are good ways to advertise the company as well as being a good method for me to meet other potential apprentices and give them my personal experience and opinions. I have the option of doing many more STEM activities if I want to, or I am able to decrease the amount of STEM events I do.

BAE Systems has allowed me to progress and mature, I feel that it has put my in a good position to progress throughout life, and I feel that my friends would benefit similarly. BAE Systems provide a very well-known apprenticeship which is respectected from a lot of people. BAE Systems have also taught me much more then I knew before.
I suggest that people who are applying are truthful and work hard. The apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow. The apprenticeship provides a combination of academic and hands-on experience therefore there is something for everyone. The apprenticeship is certainly a fantastic opportunity for all who want to progress within engineering.
