  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I speak with foreign customers to provide spares and repairs for the typhoon aircraft, this can include sending out price information and dealing with any customer query's. I also work with contracts and often have to issue authorisation out to the business

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have devolved my IT skills, For example my excel and outlook skills have improved since joining the company in September, also my verbal and written communication skills have improved as I am learning how to deal with customers via email.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy this programme as it allows me to learn and develop whilst creating a growing network with many different members of the business, also I get to learn first hand how a company works.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured as it has many different review in place to monitor progress, it also has many different opportunity's for apprentices to grow their network and learn more about the company and business in general.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • BAE Systems offer many different options for support for example, there are support procedures put in place for apprentices who are struggling with their personal life as well as work. Also my training school offers me support with my assignments and in class learning.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive allot of support from my training provider in regards to assignments and understanding the different topics we discuss on our college days. I also feel that my trainers offer me support in my daily work life as they are always available to be contacted.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps my role as I learn more about the company and its values. Also some of the development session like excel training help my role as I fell more comfortable working with different spread sheets

  • Their are many different extra curricular activates such as German exchange, charity events, open evenings and stretch assignments.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend BAE Systems as they offer you fantastic opportunity's and provide support for any problems you may be having, also being able to work for such a large scale company at such a young age Is one of the best ways to begin your business career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Always try and set yourself apart from other people who may be applying for the apprenticeship , and make sure that you are yourself. BAE look into you as a person so do not worry that you may not have the top grades.
