My first placement of my apprenticeship I have taken on a PM and Logistics role where I am helping to run an business areas cutter supply. I do EVM and have varied day to day work due to the addition of logistics into my job profile. I frequently am involved with suppliers.
I have learnt how to complete ETCs and have started to develop my knowledge on Concur. I am starting to do LRE and am becoming involved with MBR and PDR. As this is my first year of the apprenticeship scheme, everything I've learnt is new to me
I enjoy the varied work and the fact that I am able to go down into production areas and see what my work contributes to.
Although the structure of the programme is great, the apprentices this year have had problems gaining pc's, access to them and general security clearance. Despite this, it has been enjoyable and they have made it easy to understand and our placement line managers are very carefully selected and helpful.
Help is always there when you need it. My placement has been very helpful and is preparing new process documents for a new starter reflecting this.
College tutor are always available by email however sometime feedback for assignments can be slow. They have the use of HELMs support but even though I haven't used it I have heard it can be helpful.
I can see what I am learning from my degree reflecting in everyday work.
Quarterly netwrokign sessions between all apprentices. Charity events.
Yes
Wide network- the possibility to work with so many different people from different backgrounds. Support is always there when you need it and they have a great safe guarding network.
Be yourself. Be enthusiastic. Research your area. Try to do some extra curricular activities now that reflect some aspects of the job you're going for.
