I'm currently in the Business Development are working on the Finland bid with a mix of BD, PM and Engineering professionals.
I've learnt many hard skills such as project control based skills, but I've also importantly learned a lot of soft skills such as dealing with different customers in different countries
I enjoy the programme and the work environment to a great extent.
I have to say, it is incredibly well structured, there is support wherever needed, but there is also a lot of scope to derive your own path and be forward leaning in your desires for career progression
I've been very fortunate to receive a lot of support from my employer, whether it be with wanting to get involved with a certain customer, or to undertake certain trainings, and even outside of work, supporting me and my sport, work are very supportive
I think the support was good, perhaps at times it could have been a little better, but I also recognise that it is a two way thing and perhaps I could have also been a little more forward leaning
I'm a big advocate that on hands experience trumps formal education. However there are certainly good practices I've picked up in theory through the qualification that I have then been able to identify and mirror in the workplace
There is always an event, social evening or sporting/musical activity to get involved with.
Yes
Hand on heart, I don't think I could have taken a more well rounded path out of school. On the job learning, great salary from day dot, no debt, a degree, industry experience in a market leading company. Please, someone tell me the downside if there is one.
It was 5 years ago that I went through the application process. But, do your research, be yourself and show what you can bring to the company.
