I would attend work and complete tasks set by teachers at acton town. The apprentice on a whole wasn’t too bad, although the preparation wasn’t fantastic. There were many days, even weeks where there wasn’t any work to do and we, as a group of 14+ sometimes, were sat around doing nothing.
Due to joining the apprenticeship at an older age than most, I believe that I developed existing skills. Colleagues who were younger and fresh from school/college developed new skills and I believe this was a result of the training we were given by staff.
On a whole I enjoyed the apprentice and my duration at the apprenticeship training location, staff were all approachable and wanted the best for everyone in their future careers. As I mentioned before the preparation could have been improved to make everyone’s experience more pleasant
Due to enrolling on a new scheme offered by a new governing body, the organization and structure was poor. We were constantly awaiting confirmation from the awarding body as to the criteria we needed to meet to gain the qualification. This in turn created a lot of free time
The support and guidance we were offered and received was faultless. All staff wanted apprentices to excel and pass the qualification ensuring they were given the job they wanted.I
The training provider was very lazy in finalizing and completing the criteria to which apprentices needed to meet to gain the qualification.
Personally I believe only the health and safety section I completed aids me in completing my day to day tasks at work.
From what I have heard there are many things to participate in outside of work, although because I live quite a distance from work I do not/cannot get involved in these
Yes
Overall it is a very good company to work for. They value their staff majority of the time and gives every opportunity to excel in our careers.
Be patient, persistent and grateful when the opportunity arises.
