My day to day role is a Dealer Setup Administrator. This essentially means that I do checks on dealers to see if they are eligible to work with ourselves and provide vehicles for our customers.
The biggest skills that stand out to me are team work and time management skills. The team work skills derives from being part of a team where we all work from the same work load and have to communicate. Whereas the time management comes from managing work and university.
I very much enjoy the program due to the support I receive and the sense of progression within the company.
The program is very well organised in my opinion. There is clear support from university when we go there on block release and then we have university mentors who support as at work with university.
The support from my employer is arguably the best thing about the program. There are university mentors who are always happy to help and book meetings when help is needed with assignments. There is also my team leader and work colleagues who support me with my day to day role.
We receive support in terms of when we are actually at university. In terms of outside of uni, they are happy to respond to an email but maybe could support us more when it comes to adapting to the uni style of writing.
I feel at the minute it is having limited impact because I am very much near the start of the course but I can see it helping me in the future.
Yes! The company are very big on staff well being and there is a 5 aside event every Wednesday that I got involved in. I have also been involved in doing presentations at my old college where I discussed apprenticeship opportunities.
Yes
There is a real sense of progression for both employees and the company as a whole which creates a very happy atmosphere. The company are also very big on work/social balance which allows time for friends and family.
I wouldn't say there is any hidden secret. For me it is just a case of being yourself and you will quickly know if it is right for you.
