There is a vast range of roles which an apprentice can get involved with on a day-to-day basis. From being a supervisor in a London Underground station to working to in Buses. TfL allows you to explore many avenues. Currently I'm working in London Underground Health and Safety.
I have learnt many skills, such as how to properly present to an group of people and to run an effective meeting. Studying my Business Management degree has also allowed me to gain a better understanding of businesses and how they work and run effectively.
i enjoy my programme very much, from meeting lots of new people to experiencing things at work which i wouldn't have been able to before.
The programme does have a good structure. However, there can be confusion due to lack of communication between TfL and the university.
We receive lots of support from our employer. From additional study days were required and 20% of our time allocated to university. We also are supported in work with friendly managers and people willing to help us.

My degree allows me to view the workplace in a different way. It allows me to have more in depth knowledge regarding certain topics in the work place and helps me understand how businesses work more clearly.
TfL has many extra-curricular activities to get involved in. For example, there are staff football teams and many professional networking events. The teams you work in have Christmas parties and there is even a company wide Christmas party.
Yes
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship. I get 4 years experience in the work place, I am working towards a degree debt free and I get paid a good wage. I believe this is the best way to study.
Research the company before your interview. Challenges they are facing, good things happening ect. This shows that you are serious about working at Transport for London.
