  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Accounts manager Department. This job requires managing accounts that fall behind with payments or other external effects such as vehicle problems. This involves contacting the customer on a daily basis to help them get back on track and catch up with their agreements with the company so that they can keep the vehicle. This involves setting up arrangements which are decided based on the individual customers income and expenses as well as any other effects they have in their day to day lives.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • New skills have i have developed and improved since starting the apprenticeship is my communication skills on the phone have improved significantly I am now able to follow a call structure and create a strong relationship with customers who call up daily. My time Management skills have also improved as managing my projects along with work and my University work requires managing certain time slots in the day to dot hem. Lastly my presentation skills have improved as well due to having to present often to my managers and mentors it has allowed me to build confidence and made my presenting more informal and engaging.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my program the university course chartered business management is interesting and I can relate it to work and see aspects where i can improve the business through theories i have learned on the course, the program also includes a lot of project work improving areas in the business which is really enjoyable and gives me a lot of responsibility.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the program I'm on is very well structured training sessions are ordered in the correct format to learn them and links to the learning of the job role well filling in gaps of knowledge when needed to do the job effectively, I have a calendar filled with objectives and meetings to attend daily to guide me through the course.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a team leader who visits me numerous times a day in the office to give help and advice when i need it and also set me objectives of improvement, as well I have a mentor at work who helps with both work and University assignment. Lastly i have a University support work who is there for helps when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive plenty of support from both my team leader and mentor who keep me on rack and ensure I have time in work hours to complete Uni work as well I send over my Uni work weekly for them to mark and access to ensure I'm meeting the criteria to achieve the top marks.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Business Management qualification teaches you how to manage and work in groups as well how businesses structure the organisation it teaches techniques in ways different theories can be intervened in the business to improve it therefore It is very relevant to improve my performance at work. It also helps develop key skills in working business environments.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there's a variety of choices, Work provide a Business foundation course which teaches you about setting goals and improving yourself as well as learning more about the business, they also host a mental well being day which is taking part in activities with your work colleagues improving your relationship and helping you wind down from stress. Lastly they host a Bike ride to Amsterdam every year to raise money for charity.

  • Yes

  • It's a people first based company therefore staff are treated as an asset and the business realizes the important that happy staff and motivated staff will result in the business thriving, there are a variety of staff training opportunities to improve and develop your skills personally. It is also a feedback culture company therefore feedback is often which allows you to improve you performance.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to First Response Finance Limited?
  • Be yourself and be open make sure you are a team player and enjoy working in groups but can also work individually on your own projects, don't be afraid to engage and express yourself in the Assessment days, lastly be confident and bring a positive presence into the office as these are key for that the business look for.
